Kaikoura Gateway Motor Lodge
Kaikoura is a lovely part of the country on the east side of the South Island.
The Kaikoura Gateway Motor Lodge is a fairly new (opened in 2005), modern complex of 40+ units.
We had x2 2 bedroom apartments and they were very spacious, modern and clean.
With comfortable furniture, tons of parking and more the Lodge recently received a 4* Star Rating. Hosts Nevin and Sue were very friendly and are there to help.

Situated at the top of the hill above the main street, our units had a nice view across the distant hills and it was a short walk down the hill to some terrific cafes and restaurants.
Heart Pumping At 4 am
This place really had our hearts pumping at 4 am, with the Fire Alarm blaring!
Nevin assured us it was a false alarm and it was the first time it had gone off on him. Phew!
